Leucoseptrum stellipilum 'Amanogawa'

Japanese Shrub Mint

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Leucoseptrum stellipilum 'Amanogawa' - All broad serrated green leaves are heavily splashed and speckled in pure white variegation. The white tissue often predominates amounting to a greater percentage of leaf tissue than the green. Bold leaves are serrate. The Milky Way Japanese Shrub Mint is strikingly beautiful. And not to worry about the mint moniker - this is a clumping subshrub and in no way a garden thug! Showy pink-white bottle brush feathers spike in autumn. The plant is hardy for us but our growing season is too short to enjoy the flowers in the garden... but not in the greenhouse: Yipee!! Average to fertile draining ground in part to fully sun. The species hails from Japan where this selection was made. Established potted Japanese Shrub Mint from cutting.
