Iris sibirica 'Carnivalito' - This is something else. Purple and white-dappled standards are flanked with with styles barely suffused in pearl extending from pastel blue-green ribs lyrically tipped in apricot pink. (Read it again!) Falls are warm yellow specked purple at the bases with all veins showy and purple. The veins become increasingly evident towards edges of the falls altogether forming one relatively large-flowered, captivating and showy iris. Adding to the carnivale is the pleasant fragrance of 'Carnivalito'. Throw me some of those beads, baby!! It also happens to be a strong and robust partier! Middle bloomer in the Siberian Iris season. Established pot grown division.
Cultural requirements are simple but must be adhered to or plants are likely to languish, not perform and perhaps disappear from their special place in the garden. All of the cultivars we offer require a very nutritious loam rich in organic material preferably with a blend of composted animal manure and worm castings. When you think it's rich enough add more - in huma terms just think of "death by chocolate". Full sun exposure with your Siberian Iris in this deep moisture retaining soil will spell success. Please don't attempt circumvention with salt-based chemical fertilizers. Give them the rich, organic soil they require.
