Amarcrinum x 'Elegance'

Amarcrinum

Plant Type:

BULBS

Amarcrinum 'Elegance' - 'Elegance' is lovely and floriferous, too. This selection, a cross between Amaryllis belladona with Crinum hybrid, produces blush pink lily flowers. The hue is pure and beautiful, indescribable in both bud and trumpet; it has to be seen to know; rather like a baby pink, or pale conch pink but with an aura, a glow. It's immediately heartwarming, delicious and endearing. Up to 27 buds per fleshy stalk opening in succession over a period of many weeks in summer. Flowering stalks rise up to 42 inches tall. Glossy rich green strap-shaped leaves are also fleshy. If grown potted which would be necessary in the north be sure to keep it drier in winter. Fertile draining soil in full to half sun. Established potted plant from offset.

In regards to autumn planting: Generally we caution that plants near and at the northern end of their climate range are best considered for spring planting so they have a chance to settle in and grab hold to their new environs. If you purchase a tricky plant now and it perishes in the winter please understand that we will not take responsibility. If you are uncertain be prudent, wait until spring.
