Melissa officinalis 'Gold Leaf' - Bright yellow foliage on the Golden Lemon Balm glows in part to dappled shade. Foliage in summer trends towards a bright, light green. Lemon-scented foliage is strongly, pleasantly fragrant. Inter in average, draining soil where Golden Lemon Balm will mound and expand. Height... well, the average height is about 15 inches but it may grow 12 inches tall or might stretch as tall as 30. Flowers are insignificant. Can be utilized in teas, soups and salads. It's a good honey bee food source. And in semi-shade it's an ornamental knockout in contrast to green neighbors. Lemon Balm's nativity is Southern Europe and the Mediterranean stretching into Central Asia. Where the gold leaf selection was made we do not know if found in a garden, nursery or in the wild. Established potted Golden Lemon Balm from cutting.
