Tulbaghia violacea 'Alba'

White Society Garlic

Plant Type:

BULBS

Tulbaghia violacea 'Alba' - This is the white flowering form Society Garlic. Gray-green strap-shaped leaves are virtually evergreen in the southernmost part of its range. It blooms very freely with loose umbels composed of 8 to 20 white flowers, rather showy and pretty summer into fall. It has a definite scent of garlic/onion which would likely thwart potential predators. We wish it was hardy for us! Variegated Society Garlic clumps and is easy in pots. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. From division, pot grown.
