Crinum x 'Summer Glow'

Crinum Lily

Plant Type:

BULBS

Crinum x 'Summer Glow' – Lovely pale pink-white trumpets emerge with a somewhat darker stripe at the center of each petal. As the flowers mature the pink darkens to a juicy pink-purple while the blush margins grow more noticeably pink. This remarkable Crinum Lily blooms successively on fleshy stalks right through the summer. Developed in the 1950s by Grace Hinshaw 'Summer Glow' is a virtual heirloom as worthy now as when it first appeared. Parentage is C. 'Cecil Houdyshel' x C. 'Ellen Bosanquet'. Full sun in fertile, draining soil. Keep it drier in winter especially in pot culture. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is strongly advised. Pot grown bulb.
