Rubus sp. “white splashed” – Large white flowers above beautifully variegated foliage splashed and stippled with much white against the the green backdrop – very showy and worthy as a rarefied contrasting shrub / bramble among solidly colored plants, be they herbaceous or woody. Lovely one-inch flowers with five white papery petals replete with a heart of pale Granny Smith apple green stamens decorate the foliage in late spring / early summer with some occasional bloom possible dotting the foliage throughout the summer. We do not know the species but it is allegedly hardy in USDA zone 5 and maybe colder. We now know with certainty that it is genuinely hardy through zone 5. This is something else! So new we don't even know the adult size. It has remained very low growing, only 5 to 6 inches tall, in the container after a couple of years. Cutting grown.
