Lagerstroemia indica x fauirei 'Hopi' - Think pink... late blooming pink on a multi-stemmed shrub cloaked in handsome, glossy leaves that turn fantastical colors in the fall, often in conjunction with the latter part of the flowering cycle. Flowering commences for us circa the threshold of mid-September. Clustered florets on large, showy panicles occur at the tips of stems. The rich dark brown bark exfoliates in papery peels but it is the texture of the flowers that gives rise to the common name, Crepe Myrtle. This is one a small series of shrubby hybrids that has extended hardiness into colder zones. Site in full to nearly full sun in fertile, draining soil. Established pot grown starter shrub from cutting.
