Brunsvigia radulosa

Brunsvigia

Plant Type:

BULBS

Brunsvigia radulosa - pink (ex: Seneca Hill Perennials) - is a stunning species, rather like a giant Nerine on steroids. From the center of the rosette of thick, rough adepressed leaves emerges a spike topped with a huge domed head of red to pink flowers. Brunsvigia ranges up to 6,500 feet in its native haunts. Site in sun in well-drained soil. Up north Brunsvigia radulosa would be a great potted candidate for the cool greenhouse. It is important to keep Brunsvigia  relatively dry in winter (as is generally true of South African bulbs) or it will likely rot. Unwise to plant this outdoors in autumn at the northern end of its range. Farther south be certain the drainage is excellent. These may be potted or arrive bare root.
