Sambucus canadensis ‘Aurea’ – This is a not commonly offered form of our native Elderberry complete with yellow foliage, typical flowering flattened white cymes followed by red instead of black-purple fruits. Golden Elderberry will be great in the wild garden, at woodland’s edge or as part of a wildlife planting. Site in full to part sun planted in fertile moisture retaining soil. Its origins are unknown but the species originates Nova Scotia to Manitoba, south to Florida and Texas. If ordered during our Autumn shipping window the gold-leaf form of Elderberry will be pruned back. Cutting grown.
