Persicaria affinis 'Darjeeling Red'

Fleeceflower

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Persicaria affinis ‘Darjeeling Red’ – This is a great well-behaved weed-proofing ground covering Fleeceflower for sunny areas. Tongue-shaped glossy green leaves grow 2 to 4 inches long matted on a dense, spreading carpet. Mid season showy 8” flower spikes, and lots of them, erupt into autumn in a rosy red shade. Foliage bronzes late season while the narrow bottle brush flowers continue their reign. By mid-November the foliage and flowers become a pool of warm light brown touched with pink-red. 'Darjeeling Red' is not weedy. It is exceptionally handsome. It is easy, long flowering, squelches weeds and is attractive to bees. Why it is not selling to more on line customers is a sad mystery?! Darjeeling Red your life! Plant ‘Darjeeling Red’ in sandy loam sited in plenty of sun. Established pot grown division.
