Geranium maculatum ‘Hazel Gallagher’ – ​'Hazel Gallagher' is a lovely pure white flowering version of the common muddy pink roadside cranesbill seen blooming in May from Manitoba, east to Maine in a wide swath towards the south. This easy-going perennial geranium looks terrific with other shade lovers and oh, so worthy in the woodland garden; the clean, cool white flowers light up above a foil of typically paw-like medium to dark green leaves. ‘Hazel Gallagher’ has some drought tolerance once established. And a percentage of white flowering plants come true from seed; to maintain a pure white population simply immediately pull up any that bloom pink. Plant in part to open shade in draining soil.
