Forsythia viridissima 'Bronxensis'

Forsythia

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Forsythia viridissima ‘Bronxensis’ – This is not a new form but it is lovely and useful dwarf. Light yellow early spring flowers illuminate the branches within its compact form. The color is softer than some of the hard yellow color forms. Though touted for yellow fall color every autumn the green foliage of summer picks up a very nice violet-purple hue at Quackin’ Grass. The winter tangle of stems effuse an earthy brassy gold color. Employ ‘Bronxensis’ in the foundation, small garden, mixed with perennials or down facing larger shrubs. Alternated with Buxus microphylla 'Morris Midget' or 'Morris Dwarf' lining a curved path would be lovely. Established shrub, cutting grown.
