Eupatorium fistulosum 'Bartered Bride'

Joe-pye Weed

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Eupatorium fistulosum 'Bartered Bride' (alt. Eutrochium fistulosum 'Bartered Bride') – A very tall white blooming Joe-pye Weed with mounded mops of fleecy white flowers. Good as a background plant in the perennial garden, a wild garden or a prairie-like setting. It looks especially fine with late flowering ironweeds and perennial sunflowers as well as tall, late Rudbeckia and grasses; also beautiful planted with Butterfly Bushes. Speaking of which: 'Bartered Bride' is a very good bee and butterfly plant. Site in full to mostly full sun planted in fertile moisture-retaining soil. Incidentally, many are listing this as E. maculatum. We believe that this moniker is incorrect. This is a clumper with moderate increase. Division.
