Acorus gramineus 'Bleached Blunder' – As the name of this sport found here at QGN as a mutated growth in a pot of 'Himenasumense' implies... well, check out the pic(s). No comment.

With apparently not much chlorphyll this mutant, replete with frayed ends and one lone head louse, seems to thrive regardless. It has retained all the dwarfy miniature character of its sibling? Mother? Relative? (What! No one in the clan wants to accept responsibility??) And for the moment that's all I can, will or dare say.

As to USDA zone hardiness we've seen numbers all over the place, from 4 to 10. I don't know and I'm not going to pretend. We're adhering to the safer middle ground 5 to 8(9) at present. Certainly there are those among you who know with some semblance of fact (not the truthiness of alternate facts but actual data driven point facts) the exact hardiness range of A. gramineus and be there any differences among the cultivars – please contact me, us (whoever remains) and educate, elevate. One can teach an old dog new tricks.
