Yucca glauca ''pink sepal''
Adam's Needle
Plant Type:
ARID LAND PLANTSYucca glauca (pink-purple sepal) - Adam's Needle is a remarkable evergreen shrub with long, narrow, thick and fibrous swords densely and architecturally emanating on a more or less horizontally from the central axis. This batch plants are grown from seed collected in Cimarraon County, Oklahoma. Instead of pure white summer flowers that cluster at the branched tops of the heavy duty flowering stalk in summer the outer sepals of all flowers exhibit a pink to red-purple flush. As these are seed grown that trait will likely vary in degree and intensity. But most if not all of these will embrace this unusual characteristic, some bodacious and others less so. This species won't flower every year but when it does everyone takes notice people and pollinators alike. It's fantastical when not in bloom; it's spectacular when in flower. Full sun in xeric to average soil; a handful of lime in the planting hole will be beneficial where acid conditions prevail. Give it room. You will never regret planting this species. Established potted Yucca from seed.
