Chrysanthemum 'Andy's Pink Clouds'
Hardy Mum
Plant Type:
SUN PERENNIALSChrysanthemum 'Andy's Pink Clouds' (ex: Andy Rzeznikiewicz) - Large-flowered and, oh, so worthy comes this single late season hardy mum. The width of each flower is 2 inches, maybe a little more. The narrow corona ringing the golden button center is white. Just beyond the white margin the petals become soft chiffon yellow. The yellow deepens, becoming fuller, warmer mid-petal; though bright and warm the yellow is never hot. Towards the outer third of the petals the color is pink to magenta pink. The pink ages to violet on mature flowers for a fetching note of color like a gorgeous autumn sunset, great contrast to solidagos and asters in the late season garden. Andy Rzeznikiewicz found this in his garden from a volunteer seedling of unknown parentage. Fertile, draining ground that doesn't become too dry for too long. If grown too dry it will languish. Full sun. Established pot grown mum from cutting.
'Andy's Pink Clouds', a hybrid chance seedling found in the town of Pomfret neighboring Brooklyn CT, is newly introduced. We now can ascertain - potentially - that the color may vary in different regions of the U.S. depending upon sun and heat. We don't know with certainty but are thinking it may be possible based upon one report from a customer in GA. We do welcome more anecdotes from customers in all regions so that we have a better handle on its performance in different regions. Thank you.
