Convallaria transcaucasica

Lily-of-the-Valley

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Convallaria transcaucasica – A species Lily-of-the-Valley from a rare, endemic population identified in the Caspian Sea area. White flowers are more pear-shaped appearing fatter, rounder than C. majalis. It is more compact than other species and their corresponding forms. There is the possibility of the barest flush of pink upon opening bells. Convallaria transcaucasica had been thought to be a form of the very well-known C. majalis but taxonomists have determined it to be distinctly different enough to have been given its very own specie designation. In any pigeon-holing it is a beautiful thing. A must for those endeared to this fine genus. Established potted perennial from division.
