Athyrium nipponicum 'Silver Falls'

Japanese Painted Fern

Plant Type:

FERNS

Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Silver Falls' – full 2-quart squares for this new offering. Limited. A simple, elegant and unquestionably beautiful selection of Japanese Painted Fern broadly brushed in light platinum gray. On close inspection the tissue supporting veins is silvery white while the outer tissue of each little leaflet at the countless serrations is light gray-green. Overall a stand appears to be light gray which quietly, handsomely illuminates the shade garden, extraordinarily so. There is a touch of dark red in the main stem which in our humble opinion underscores and distinquishes the incredibly intricate leaves, one from the next. Open shade in fertile ground. Please scroll down to the Genus Overview below. Established potted fern(s) by division.
