Rhododendron austrinum 'Don's Variegated'
Florida Azalea
Plant Type:
DECIDUOUS SHRUBSRhododendron austrinum 'Don's Variegated' - Only 1 available. This is the variegated form of the Florida Azalea with warm orange flowers with some gold evident in spring. Extra long stamens strut their stuff at the ends of delicious orange tubes set in typical trusses in spring. The trusses are not only showy but deliciously fragrant, too. The simple leaves in an alternate arrangement are irregularly variegated all through the growing season. In fall the leaves may be yellow, golden, orange, bronze or in combination before leaf fall. This is one fetching shrub. Moist, partly shaded - deciduous, dappled woodland cover is good, edge of the woods or any partly shaded site in fertile, draining soil. Prune out any reversions that might occur. Established Rhody from cutting.
