Hedera helix 'Road Toad'
English Ivy
Plant Type:
VINESHedera helix 'Road Toad' - EXCLUSIVE! From the garden of Jonathan Lehrer comes this weird and fascinating English Ivy mutation. Dark green leaves have lost the typical lobes and are round or at least rounded. The margins of many leaves are tightly corrugated and curl up suggesting a large fringed cup. En masse this would make spectacularly interesting, textured ground cover. For anyone who may collect English Ivy: 'Road Toad' is a must! Even as a house plant in a cool room this curious plant will be a conversation piece either staked or dangling from a hanging basket. Add a magic toad to your life... and kiss it. It may turn into a prince. Don't eat it. It is poisonous... Just kiss it lightly. And brake before you run over it. Respect the amphibians... Height will depend upon the structure to which it attaches. The last we heard is that research plainly indicates that English Ivy does not erode concrete, brick or stone; rather, it's an old wives' tale... possibly an Old World wives' tale? Established plant, cutting grown.
