Hibiscus syriacus 'Diana' - ​'Diana' has deep green foliage and large, pure white flowers that bloom from mid- to late summer. Unlike some other roses of Sharon, its flowers remain open at night. tetraploid. It requires little maintenance and, once established, will tolerate extreme heat, drought, and poor soil. 'Diana', named for the Greek goddess, is an introduction which came from the U.S. National Arboretum. Though 'Diana' can be trained into a small tree if allowed to do what it does naturally this big shrub will likely grow wider than tall. Yellow fall color may follow the extended bloom season. Silvery gray bark with a quiet sheen reflects winter light. Though tolerant of less-than-good growing conditions she will be happiest and give you the best performance in fertile, draining soil sited in full to almost full sun. As she blooms on new growth a late winter prune will not impact flowering. Cutting grown.
