Crinum x ibolium 'Sangria'
Plant Type:
BULBSCrinum x 'Sangria' - Rosy pink lily-like flowers, many to a spike, open in summer. Handsome, purple strap-shaped leaves betray the genus: Amaryllidaceae. 'Sangria' is a beautiful hybrid from the parentage of C. procerum 'Splendens' and C. bulbispermum. Site in full sun at the northern end of the range or sun to light shade in the south. Plant in evenly moist soils. If pot-grown, as here in northeastern Connecticut, don't love your 'Sangria' too much... be certain that it is kept drier in winter or it will drink itself to rot. Big pots - a bargain - flowering size with offsets. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is strongly advised.
