Drimiopsis botryoides (ex: Jonathan Lehrer; tentatively identified, this genus is taxonomically confused) - Broad, fleshy leaves with a satiny finish are heavily flecked covered in darker green to blue-green spots on this African Hosta... not a hosta at all... sometimes common names make me crazier than I already am. From the bulb's rosette comes a strong stem with a scilla flower spike with a densely set whorl of greenish white flowers maturing pure white that whorl and whorl up to the tippity-top! Plant if fertile, draining soil sited in plenty of sun. Keep Drimiopsis botryoides drier in winter. This will make a good windowsill plant or an element in the warm conservatory. If purchased in autumn where it can be planted outdoors it would be wise to hold indoors until spring. It's fair to say that this is a collector plant! Pot grown bulb very likely with offsets.
