Bletilla striata ‘Murasaki Shikibu’ – This marvelous cultivar of Hardy Ground Orchid is lavender with a definite blue tone infused in the flower. The edge of the lip is darker lavender-purple with some spotting on the lip’s central portion. The heart of the flower is honey yellow. Plant ‘Murasaki Shikibu’ in fertile, enriched moisture-retaining soil sited in part sun conditions. Clumping with moderate increase. Once established Bletilla demonstrates some drought tolerance. Established potted orchid by division.
